A Brief Account about the auspicious Drukpa Tsheyzhi (4th day of the 6th month of the Lunar Calendar)
Kuenkhen Mipham Pema Karpo had prophecised that at the place called Varanasi, from among a thousand gold thrones, the one on the fourth golden throne shall teach/speak.
Accordingly, first, Buddha Sakyamuni felt immense compassion for all the sentient beings. Secondly, for countless life times, he accumulated merits for three aeons. And finally, Buddha Sakyamuni attained enlightenment on a fateful night.
After His enlightenment, Buddha Sakyamuni hesitated to share his discoveries. He did not teach for about seven weeks. Then Lord Brahma and God Indra appeared before him and offered a golden wheel with thousand spokes and a white conch to Buddha Sakyamuni and pleaded him to teach for the benefit of all sentient beings.
Then, on the fourth day of the sixth month of the Lunar calendar, at a place called Varanasi, in the forest of Lhungwarida, at the one-time gathering of the five excellent disciples: 1. Kuenshey Kaundinya, 2. Tathuel, 3. Langpa, 4. Mingchhen and 5. Zangden, and other countless beings such as Gods, Demi Gods and humans, Buddha Sakyamuni provided his sermon on the four noble truths and turned the wheel of Dharma for the first time. Therefore, this day is considered to be very auspicious.
On this day, if you do good deeds without being greedy about the money, without being lazy or reluctant, it has been said by many great lamas that the good deeds you do today will have immense benefit, even more than the good deeds that you do everyday.
